Youth Emergency Services & Shelter (YESS)

After my graduation from Iowa State, I started my first full-time job as a Communications Coordinator with a beloved Des Moines non-profit. YESS is Iowa’s largest youth emergency shelter and our mission is to change lives by protecting children and empowering families.

I create all social media content and manage YESS’s four social media platforms. Through strategic elements in adapting social media platforms and content, audience has grown 12% in 6 months with Facebook ads and tailored posts.

Safe Place Video: Jamie’s Journey to YESS

I created this video that follows Jamie, a young girl, who ran away from home and stumbled upon a Safe Place sign that eventually brought her to YESS. This original video received recognition by the National Safe Place program.
